The following conduct policies have been adopted to protect all users' right of access to the facility, to ensure health, cooperation, and safety of all guests and staff, and to protect resources from damage.
1.1. Disorderly behavior of any kind, including excessive noise, running in the building, or otherwise causing a disruption to the peace and order of the Student Center is not permitted.
1.2. Indecent exposure, voyeurism, exhibitionism, or other lewd and lascivious acts are not permitted.
1.3. Harassment of other Student Center guests or staff, either verbally or physically is not permitted. This may include verbal abuse, use of profanity or other abusive language, intimidation, staring at or following another person within the facility, sexual harassment or harassment on the account of race, religion, ethnic background, gender or sexual orientation.
3.1. Bicycles are not allowed in the facility. All bicycles must be secured at the racks provided next to the Student Center near Mort Harris RFC. Any bicycles secured to the facility, or fence adjacent to the south end of the building, will be confiscated.
3.2. Use of skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates, scooters, hoverboards or other sports equipment within the facility is not permitted.
3.3. Firearms or any other weapons are not permitted in the Student Center
4.1. Wayne State University is a Smoke-Free and Tobacco-Free campus. See policy 00-3 Smoke-Free and Tobacco-Free Campus for the full policy.
4.2. Possessing or consuming alcohol or illegal drugs or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs is not permitted and may result in ejection from the Student Center.
4.3. Soliciting for personal gain, selling products or services; or approaching guests for the purpose of obtaining signatures for petitions within the building is not permitted.
4.4. Groups of 15 or more utilizing the food court must be coordinated through the Student Center Administration prior to arrival. (313-577-4585)
4.5. All Wayne State University Code Annotated (WSUCA), University Policies, Student Code of Conduct, and the Administrative Policy and Procedure Manual (APPM) are observed and enforced in the Student Center.
5.1. The Student Center is the "living room" of Wayne State's main campus. In an effort to maintain a healthy environment for our patron's, unauthorized research, filming and photography is prohibited within the facility. Any filming, videotaping or photographing in the Student Center performed by anyone not associated with the WSU Marketing and Communication Department or the Student Center Administration must receive approval from the Director of the Student Center.
5.2. Amplified music, of any kind, will not be allowed to be played on Gullen Mall because of interference with the academic mission of the University including classroom teaching, library usage and studying. All amplified music programs must be located on Keast Commons.
